I'm a writer, director, and cinematographer obsessed with the power of 'story' to create positive change – big and small. As the co-founder and president of Tilt23 Studios, I get to work with some crazy talented filmmakers helping clients change the world. I'm also a gear junkie, science-loving home cook with a penchant for bags and hats. My favorite people call me 'dad' and 'babe.'

I believe deeply in authenticity. I don't believe, however, that authenticity is a quality of production – it's a quality of storytelling. My work is driven by a cinematic naturalism that seeks to elevate the story through treating it as filmic rather than arbitrarily "raw" or "un-refined." Our lives contain enough reality. Our storytelling should inspire us to better. That is the kind of storytelling that helps a brand thrive and grow.

"I contain multitudes," I didn't say that, Walt said that, but either way it's true. My interests range from whiskey to social justice, from mental health to fashion. I see none of it as frivolous. It is all bound by a single thread – passion for the unique human quality that seeks to create – for good and for the sake of itself. I believe in stories that challenge the modern aesthetics of productivity, efficiency, and profit. I'm interested in craft, hard work, and experience as ends in and of themselves. My documentary work is housed under Modern Relic Films.
